Welcome to Bernie's official website. Bernie is a singer & actress who was  lead vocalist on many of The Nolans (Nolan Sisters) recordings. Together with her sisters they had hits such as "I'm in the Mood for Dancing", "Don't Make Waves", "Attention to Me" & "Gotta Pull Myself Together". The Nolans sold millions of records worldwide, including Japan where they sold over 9 million albums. Bernie also wrote 2 tracks for their 1982 album Portrait.  

She was a presenter on the BBC Saturday morning children's show On the Waterfront where critics were pleasantly surprised at her gift for comedy. Bernie left the Nolans in 1994 to concentrate on her solo career, which had begun with her 1993 performance in the stage play The Devil Rides Out. In 2000 she joined the cast of Channel 4's soap opera Brookside as Diane Murray after being spotted whilst starring in the musical Blood Brothers. She left Brookside in 2002 & was soon starring on TV again as Sergeant Sheelagh Murphy in ITV's long running police drama series The Bill. 

In 2006 Bernie took part in the Channel 4's series The Games, focusing on fund raising for Alzheimer's & children's charities. In 2007, Bernie starred in the play Mum's the Word & featured in the Iceland Foods adverts with her sister Coleen. During the summer she appeared at Blackpool's North Pier Theatre in Soap Queens. Bernie then played Hannah Owens in Flashdance The Musical.

In 2009 Bernie played the fairy godmother in Manchester Opera House's panto Cinderella. This followed on from The Nolans Reunion tour which was a spectacular success filling Arena's around the UK. In early 2010, Bernie reached the final of ITV's Popstar to Operastar, loosing by just 0.2% of the votes to Darius Danesh. Soon after it was revealed that Bernie was suffering from breast cancer & she vowed to beat it giving a series of positive interviews to support & inspire other sufferers.
