Maureen is best known as a
member of the all conquering Nolan Sisters who were one of the first all girl
family groups to achieve worldwide success. Maureen has been singing with
her sisters since she was 9 years old, starting in the working Men's club's and
rising to become a member of one of Europe's foremost singing groups.
Maureen's biggest musical
singing influence has to be Frank Sinatra whom she admired even before The
Nolans appeared with him on his 1975 European tour. As a member of The Nolans
she shared 8 UK hit records with her sisters and they enjoyed phenomenal success
in Japan including 6 No1's and sales of over 9 million records. TV Specials for BBC
Television followed and several Japanese Grammy awards sealed their place in the
hearts of Far Eastern fans.
In the last decade, Maureen has been carving out a
very successful solo career with numerous pantomimes to her credit. Maureen has
played leading role's in theatre show's like Mums The Word, Girls Behind, Stardust,
Footloose, The Naked Truth, Peter Pan (the musical), The Eva Cassidy Story and
as Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers both on tour and in the West End of London at
The Phoenix Theatre. As the fourth Nolan sibling to star in this particular
leading role, Maureen and her sisters Bernie, Denise and Linda entered the
Guinness Book Of Records in 2007.
