The Nolan family relocate to Blackpool from Dublin

1963

The Singing Nolans are launched and star in the Blackpool clubs.

1965

Coleen is born in Blackpool on 12th March. (The only English born sister)

1972

‘Blackpool’ single released on the Nevis label, EP Silent Night & LP ‘The Singing Nolans’

1973

The Nolan Family move to London to work in 'the London Rooms'. 

1974

The Nolan Sisters launched. Single ‘But I Do’ released

1975

The group support Frank Sinatra on his European tour & support Rolf Harris in South Africa. "Make a Little Sunshine Shine” is released.

1976

"Rain"  "Thanks for Calling & "When You Are a King" All single releases.

1977

London Rooms LP recorded and sold at the venue (now very collectable), ‘Love Transformation’ & ‘Love Bandit’ singles released.

1978

20 Giant Hits LP / TV advertised reaches no 3 in UK Charts, support Engelbert Humperdinck in USA, Denise leaves the act. ‘Don’t it make my Brown eyes Blue’ released as a single.

1979

A song for Europe contenders, Sign with CBS. Harry, My Honolulu Lover is a single release, followed by ‘Spirit, Body & Soul’ (no 34) and then ‘I’m in the Mood for Dancing’ (no 3). ‘Nolan Sisters’ 12 inch (no 15) & ‘The Nolan Sisters’ 10 inch LP released

1980

Coleen joins full time. Don't Make Waves (no 12), Gotta Pull Myself Together (no 9) & Who's Gonna Rock You (no 12) all single releases. ‘Making Waves’ (no 11) LP released. Anne leaves the act.

1981

‘Attention to Me’ (no 9), ‘Sexy Music’ and ‘Chemistry’ (no 15) singles released. Sexy Music (compilation LP), All About The Nolans (2-LP box set) & ‘Don't Love Me Too Hard’ LP’s all issued. Nolans win The Tokyo Music Festival.

1982

‘Don’t Love me too Hard’ (no 14), ‘Crashing Down’ & ‘Dragonfly’ singles released. Anne rejoins. Portrait (no 7) & Altogether (no 52) LP’s released.

1983

‘Dressed to Kill’ single released. Harmony (compilation LP) issued. Linda quits the band.

1984

‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ LP released. (no 39)

1985

‘Goodbye Nothin' to Say’ single released.

1986

‘Let's Spend the Night Together’ single released. ‘Tenderly’ LP released. Stadium tour of Russia.

1987

Six album deal signed for the Japanese market.

1988

20 giant hits released by Pickwick records under licence.

1989

‘I'm in the Mood for Dancin' 89 (re-recording) released as single and EP

1991

‘Rock and Rolling Idol’, ‘Take Me All’, Tidal Wave are all 3” CD singles in Japan. ‘Playback Pt 2’, ‘Tidal Wave’ & ‘Rock & Rolling Idol’ CDs released in Japan.

1992

‘Mother Earth’- CD single in Japan. ‘Graduation’ (The Nolans & Friends), ‘Hottest Place on Earth’, ‘Lost Lonely Beaches’ & New Music Pops in Japan (The Nolans & Friends) – all CDs for the Japanese market.

1993

Star Box CD compilation issued on the Epic record label.

1994

Coleen leaves the act for family reasons.

1995

I'm in the Mood for Dancing (re-recording)" (no 51) released on Living Beat records. Bernie goes solo.

1996

2 x CD’s released – ‘The best of The Nolans’ & ‘The very best of The Nolans’.

1997

New Best Hits and More (includes 5 new tracks) CD – Japan.

1998

Tommy Nolan Snr passes away.

2000

Amy – Anne’s daughter and her friend Julia Duckworth Join the Nolans. Summer season in Blackpool at The Grand. Anne and Amy perform in (Snow White) panto at Colne.

2001

Maureen performs in Aladdin - panto at Colne. Anne & Amy star in Cannock’s Christmas show.

2002

Anne & Maureen join the Reelinandarockin’ world tour backing 60’s legends Dave Berry, Mike d'Abo, Gerry Marsden, Mike Pender and Brian Poole… Jersey, QE2, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Belgium and 34 UK dates.

2003

The Nolans stay with the 60’s tribute show for another mammoth UK tour and Australian tour.

2004

Another Reelinandarockin year with Dave Dee, Tony Crane and Wayne Fontana replacing Mike d’Abo and Gerry Marsden. UK tour Sept – Nov, also tour Scandinavia. Anne & Amy do pantomime in Torquay. Maureen is in panto in Cinderella in Doncaster.

2005

Nolans group disbands. Anne & Amy appear in the Snow White pantomime in York. Maureen stars as Mrs Johnstone in Blood Brothers in the West End.

2006

The Singles Collection (includes bonus DVD) released.

2007

Maureen Nolan Snr dies aged 81. Maureen is in panto at Durham.

2008

Anne releases her autobiography ‘Anne’s Song’ in 2008.

2009

In the Mood Again CD released (no 22) to coincide with UK reunion tour. DVD also issued.

2012

Farewell tour announced then cancelled as a result of Bernie’s breast cancer resurgence.

2013

Bernie passes away in July 2013. Thousands line the streets of Blackpool to pay their respects.
